Dear students and families,

All of us at the Wilbraham Middle School have been deeply saddened by the tragic events in South Hadley. It is a troubling fact that bullying, and especially cyber-bullying, are a part of our students’ lives. Please be assured that the teachers, staff and administration take bullying very seriously and deal promptly with any reported incidents. We actively work with the school resource officer and our guidance and adjustment counselors to investigate occurrences, empower the victims, and discipline the bullies. Additionally, we have implemented the Developmental Designs program that is used during our daily advisory block. The program allows students to meet in small groups and connect and interact in a positive way with their teacher and fellow classmates. We are also currently planning an Anti-Bullying week in conjunction with the Wilbraham Police, Minnechaug High School and Thornton Burgess School.

Please discuss bullying with your child and encourage them to come forward if they have been the victim of bullying. The entire Wilbraham Middle School community is committed to eliminating bullying in our school.
