Dear Minnechaug Parents,

We would like to remind you of some important information regarding your child’s course selections for next year.

The process of selecting courses for next year was kicked off when students received the 2008-2009 Program of Studies before February vacation. For your convenience, the Program of Studies is also available on-line at www.hwrsd.org. Hopefully, you and your child have had an opportunity to review and discuss the course options.

Monday, March 10, is Recommendation Day. Students will receive course recommendation sheets in homebase. They will bring these sheets to each class where their teachers will make recommendations for courses in their disciplines for next year. Your child’s first semester teachers made their recommendations on January 4.

Students will bring home two copies of the course recommendation sheet for you to sign on Monday. Please sign both copies, but keep the pink one. Your child must return the signed yellow copy to school on Wednesday, March 12. On this day, students will be given a form to fill in the numbers of the courses they would like to take next year. Your thoughtful and careful attention to this process will be helpful as changes in course selections will be very difficult after this date.
