The Media Center's Online Databases

InfoTrac. InfoTrac is a collection of many databases, including Student Resource Center, Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, Biography Resource Center, and Contemporary Literary Criticism. You will need the Minnechaug password to log into these databases from home. You can get the password by calling the Media Center at 596-9011 ext. 311 or the Wilbraham Public Library's Reference Desk at 596-6141 ext. 3.

CQ Researcher. The CQ Researcher database is currently only available through the computers at the high school. The Media Center also collects the print version of CQ Researcher, going back to 1990.

The WPL's Online Databases

The Wilbraham Public Library subscribes to several databases that students will find useful, including Issues & Controversies, History Study Center, Science Online, and Literary Reference Center.

To log into these databases, students will need a valid library card number. If your card number does not work, please call the WPL's Reference Desk at 596-6141 ext. 3 or email Kate Pritchard, Reference & Young Adult Librarian, at kate@wilbrahamlibrary.org.

The BPL's Online Databases

The Boston Public Library now offers eCards, electronic library cards that any Massachusetts resident over the age of 13 may use. To register for an eCard, go to the eCard information page and click the "sign up" link.

Your BPL eCard will give you access to a wide range of databases, including JSTOR, AccessScience, History Resource Center: US, the New York Times archives from 1851, and many others.
