MRHS Guidance Department
MRHS COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS
Students are responsible for the following tasks:
- Complete a junior profile and give a “Student Evaluation” to 3 teachers.
- Check with the Guidance secretaries to make sure your Profile and Descriptions have been completed and returned. They are required for the Counselor recommendation.
- Request SAT and ACT scores be sent directly to the colleges from College Board or ACT.
- Ask a teacher(s) to write a letter of recommendation (if required by the college). Give the teacher an addressed stamped envelope to mail the recommendation directly to the college
- Mail applications or apply on-line to the colleges
After submitting your applications bring the following to the Guidance secretaries:
- One addressed envelope for each college you are applying to - NO STAMP OR RETURN ADDRESS
- $2.00 for each requested transcript
- Any required forms from the colleges, i.e.: Secondary School Report form (high school report), Counselor Recommendation. Make sure to complete and sign any required “student’ sections
There is a two week turnaround time for transcripts from the date of request to mailing. Check your college deadlines!!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
First Term and Mid-year grades are sent to each college a student applies to.
Students who will require special education services in college should contact their Special Education liaisons to request relevant testing material be sent
